إيماناً بقيمة مسرح الأطفال في تشكيل البعد الحضاري للمجتمع، وانطلاقاً من كونه أحد روافد ثقافة الطفل التي تساهم في بنائه عقلياً ووجدانياً، فإن هذا الكتاب يلقى بعض الضوء على مفهوم المشاركة في مسرح الأطفال، مع تحليل نموذج تطبيقي لقصة "الشجرة المنتصرة" لرائد أدب الأطفال في مصر والعالم العربي عبد التواب يوسف (1928-2015)، وتحويلها من قالب القصة السردية إلى قالب النص المسرحي الحوارى، في معالجة مسرحية تطبيقية في إطار مفهوم "مسرح المشاركة"، كما يشرح الكتاب لمدخل تاريخي لمفهوم المشاركة في المسرح بصفة عامة، ومفهوم المشاركة في مسرح الأطفال بشكل خاص بوصفها عملية دفع للمتفرج لكي يشارك في العرض المسرحي مع أمثلة توضيحية من تجارب مسرحية للأطفال على المستوى العالمي والقومي. إن هذا المفهوم يساهم في ترسيخ منهج التفاعل بين المرسل والمستقبل، ومن ثم تعزيز قيمة التفاعلية بين المؤدى والمتلقي في عالم المسرح، والتي تجعل من جمهور الأطفال في حالة نشطة وإيجابية في الأحداث الدرامية داخل العرض المسرحي، وهذا يساعد في اعداد جيل مستنير لعالمنا المعاصر الذي يتسم بثورة التطور التكنولوجي، وتحديات المستقبل المعرفي.
