يتناول هذا البحث دراسة التنمية العمرانية بمحافظة المجمعة التي تقع في المنطقة الوسطى بالمملكة العربية السعودية، باستخدام بيانات الاستشعار عن بعد وتحليلات نظم المعلومات الجغرافية من خلال دراسة ميدانية مسحية لنماذج من مدن المحافظة وقراها. ويركز هذا البحث على الفحص الميداني لعينة عشوائية بالمناطق المفحوصة قوامها 489 مالك من ملاك المباني، والرفع الميداني لاستخدامات الأراضي، وعدد من المقابلات الشخصية بهدف تحليل عملية التنمية العمرانية وتقييمها بالمنطقة وذلك اعتماداً على مجموعة من المرئيات الفضائية.
