كعبّاد الشمس أجنح على الرغم مني نحو الشرق، قشة يجرفها السيل بلا إرادة.أجري مستجيرًا صوب هرم هوارة وقصر التيه، لم أعد أخشى التيه ووعورته ولا الملك وكهنته وجنوده، تنتظرني هناك في حجرة من ثلاثمائة حجرة، أعرفها جيدًا، خريطتي الوحيدة شراييني تنساب بسيولة كلما اقتربت من حرارتها، وبوصلتي الوحيدة دقات قلبي تعزف لحنا شجيًا أمام باب حجرتها، ترتدي قميصا أرجوانيا من الحرير ممددة على ريش نعام، بلا وصيفات أو خدم، لأرتمي في أحضان أميرتي "نفروبتاح" وقد ملّت من طول انتظاري.
