يعد الشعر واحداً من الفنون الأدبيّة المنتشرة في العالم، والشعر عبارة عنالكلام المنسّقٌ والذي تم صياغته بطريقة فنيّة تعبّر عمّا يجول في خاطر كاتبه،وما يخالج صدره من أحاسيس ومشاعر مختلفة، ويقسمُ الشعر إلى عدةأنواع، ومن ضمنها الشعر الرومانسيّ، ديوان "جنون xجنون" للشاعرةالجميلة "صفاء الخواجة" أصنفه بأنه ديوان رومانسي، والشعر الرومانسيدائما يبتعد عن ترجيح العقل والقيود والتقاليد الإجتماعية، ويقترب ويرجحويطلق العنان للقلب كي يبوح ويتحدث عن كافة مشاعره المرهفة المحبة، لمتبدأ الشاعرة ديوانها بقصيدة تعبر فيها عن المشاعر الملتهبة للعشق أوالممزوجة بأمل في تحقيق حلم كان في الخيال مع الحبيب أو الحنين للمحبوب،بل بدأته بقصيدة "انسحاب" التي امتلأت حروفها وبين الحروف بالألموالعذاب النفسي ولم تطلب من أحد مداواتها أو عزاء في انتهاء وموت علاقةكانت بالنسبة لها بمثابة حياة.
