الدكتور : عبد المجيد زراقط وُلد في مركبا – قضاء مرجعيون – لبنان الجنوبي، 3 / 12/ 1946 .
تلقّى دراسته الابتدائية والمتوسطة في مدرسة بلدته والبلدات المجاورة الرسمية.
انتسب إلى دار المعلّمين والمعلّمات في صيدا، وتخرّج عام 1967 تابع دراسته، وهو يعمل في حقل التعليم: الابتدائي والمتوسط والثانوي، إلى أن نال درجة الدكتوراة من جامعة القديس يوسف، فانتقل إلى التعليم الجامعي في الجامعة اللبنانية – الفرع الرابع منذ العام الدراسي ، ولا يزال.
يتابع حركة الثقافة العربية، وينشر متابعاته في عدد من الصحف اللبنانيّة والعربية ويشارك في الكثير من المؤتمرات العلميّة.
يكتب أبحاثاً في تاريخ الأدب ونقده.
