بعد أن مارست عملي كطبيبٍ جراحٍ للقلوب، وجدت أنَّ أشدَّ الأسباب تأثيرًا على القلبِ النفسُ مصدرها، وأنَّ الأمراض العضوية وإن كانت صعبةً فليست من الخطورة كأمراض القلب الروحية، وقد تناولت هذا الموضوع في كتابي «وجع القلب »، إ لا لَا أنَّني وجدت أنَّه من الضرورة معرفة الإنسان بتفاصيل أمراضه القلبية بمفهومها الروحاني، والنفسي، والخلقي، بقدر أهمية معرفته بأمراضه العضوية؛ لأنَّ الأخيرة أطباؤها في كلِّ مكانٍ، أمَّا الأولى فنادرًا ما تجد أطباءها من حولك. وتذكَّرت هذا الكتاب الذي قرأته منذ فترة طويلة، وقد برع فيه صاحبه بتفصيل تلك الأمراض وتوضيح الدواء لكلِّ علَّةٍ، وعلى الرغم من أنَّه كتابٌ مشهورٌ ومتداولٌ وموجودٌ في كلِّ المكتبات، إ لا لَا أنَّ قلي ا ل من الجيل الجديد - جيل «الإنترنت » و »الفيس بوك »- من يعرفه، وإن عرفه يستثقل قراءته ومعرفة الخير الذي يحتويه، وهو في الأصل معنيًّا بهذه الفترة من العمر )فترة الشباب(، ولو اطَّلعوا عليه اليوم وفهموه لتخلَّصت مجتمعاتنا من كثيرٍ من المشاكل والانحرافات السلوكية الشائعة هذه الأيام.
