استندت في ضبط الحديث وبيان معاني ألفاظه وعباراته إلى أقوال أهل العلم من شراح الحديث وأصحاب الغريب واللغة والسير وغيرهم، وقد اجتهدت في إضافة ما اقتضاه المقام، أو إعادة صياغة بعض الألفاظ والعبارات، أو الربط بينها بما يخدم الفكرة، خرجت كل حديث تخريجاً مختصراً بجواره، اكتفيت فيه بذكر المصدر -أحد الصحيحين- ورقم الحديث، ميزت القول النبوي بالخط العريض، وضعت علامات الترقيم داخل الأحاديث، ليتيسر الفهم ومتابعة السياق، رقمت الأحاديث ترقيماً مسلسلاً للكتاب كله، أثبت في نهاية الكتاب أهم المراجع التي أخذت عنها، ولم أعز في حواشي الكتاب، كي لا يكثر تنقل نظر القارئ بين صلب الكتاب وحاشيته.
