إن ظاهرة سب الصحابة - رضوان الله عليهم - لم تكن وليدة اليوم ولا الأمس القريب، وإنما تفشَّت وظهرت على حيِّز الوجود منذ مؤازرة ومناصرة أولئك الأخيار الأطهار للمصطفى - صلى الله عليه وسلم -.وإن الطعن في الصحابة طعنٌ في النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم -؛ حيث إنهم لم يستطيعوا الطعن في النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - صراحةً لئلا ينكشف أمرهم، فعَمَدوا إلى تشويه سيرة أصحابه وتسويد صحائفهم البيضاء النقية، ووضع المثالب فيهم ليقال: إن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - رجل سوء ومن أجل ذلك صاحب أولئك الأشرار على حد زعمهم.
