هذا الكتاب وجد أو لقي قبولاً وعناية من الحنابلة، عناية فائقة، وذكرنا الشروح، ونُظم من قبل جمع من أهل العلم، وكتبت عليه الزوائد من الكتب؛ لأنه صار محورا يدار حوله، فمن شروحه شرح ابن البناء، يسمى بالمقنع في شرح مختصر الخرقي لأبي علي الحسين بن أحمد بن عبد الله بن البناء المتوفى سنة إحدى وسبعين وأربعمائة، وهذا الكتاب مطبوع ومحقق في أربعة مجلدات، وهذا من أوائل الشروح، يعني بعد مؤلفه بمائة وخمسة وثلاثين سنة، أو قريب منها، قرن وثلث
