ريتــا عـودة ، شاعرة وقاصّة فلسطينيّة ، ولدت في مدينة الناصرة ، حاصلة على شهادة اللقب الأول في اللغة الانجليزية والأدب المقارن وتـُدرّس اللغة الانجليزيّة في الثانويّة البلديّة في النّاصرة ، صدر لها : ثورة على الصمت (قصائد نثرية) مرايا الوهم (قصائد نثرية) يوميات غجرية عاشقة (ومضات شعرية) ومن لا يعرف ريتا (ومضات شاعريّة) قبل الاختناق بدمعة (أمواج دمعيّة)

قسمت الشاعرة ديوانها إلى سبعة فصول وأطلقت على كل فصل اسم دمعة، أي الدمعة الأولى والدمعة الثانية وهلَّم جرًّا حتى السابعة. وفي كل دمعة انتقلت إلى مجموعة جديدة من القصائد لها ما ترتبط بهِ فيما بينها، ولكن لما كان عنوان الديوان " قبل الاختناق بدمعة" فقد جاءت القصيدة التي تحمل اسم الديوان في المكان الأول بعد عنوان الدمعة الثانية, ويبدو أن الشاعرة التي تركت ديوانها يرفرف بين يديّ كما كتبت في الإهداء, فإنها تركت لأحلامها أن تسبح في بحور شعرها كموجات متباينة في بحرها الهائج. وهكذا كانت كل دمعة حاملة ً لهموم الشاعرة في مختلف المناسبات تمامًا كما موج البحر المتدفّق أبدًا في لهفة خاصة يُقــَبِّل ضفاف الشواطئ كذلك شاعرتنا، فهي تنتظر في الدمعة الثانية اكتمال الرجولة خاصة عندما تهاجمها هواجس خاصة في عيد الميلاد وتقول للريح أنها تحبّه وترجو الحبيب أن يكون ربيعًا دائمًا كي تحبه أكثر. وعندما تصل إلى الدمعة الأخيرة، السابعة في الترتيب، يتوقف نبض القلم عند البصمة الأخيرة فلا يعود ينبض إلا عندما تتجدد الدموع أو يحصل ما تحلم به الشاعرة عندما تجد رجل الحلم!
