ولد علي محمد جريشة، في إحدى قرى ديرب نجم بالشرقية عام 1935م؛ حيث التحق بكتاب القرية وتعلم فيه، غير أنه لم يستمر فيه كثير فالتحق بالتعليم، والتي دفعته للانتقال إلى القاهرة في بداية الخمسينيات، وكان سنه ثلاث عشرة سنةً حيث درس الثانوية العامة نظام (الـ5 سنوات).
التحق بكلية الحقوق جامعة القاهرة، حيث تخرَّج في كلية الحقوق ليعيَّن وكيلاً للنائب العام في السويس، ثم انتقل ليعمل بمجلس الدولة لمدة 4 سنوات ولد علي محمد جريشة، في إحدى قرى ديرب نجم بالشرقية عام 1935م؛ حيث التحق بكتاب القرية وتعلم فيه، غير أنه لم يستمر فيه كثير فالتحق بالتعليم، والتي دفعته للانتقال إلى القاهرة في بداية الخمسينيات، وكان سنه ثلاث عشرة سنةً حيث درس الثانوية العامة نظام (الـ5 سنوات).
التحق بكلية الحقوق جامعة القاهرة، حيث تخرَّج في كلية الحقوق ليعيَّن وكيلاً للنائب العام في السويس، ثم انتقل ليعمل بمجلس الدولة لمدة 4 سنوات.
ولم يقف عند حدود الإجازة، فتابع سبيله بالدراسات العليا في قسم الشريعة والقانون، ثم مضى في طريق التوسع حتى أحرز شهادة الدكتوراه في التخصص نفسه وكان ذلك عام 1975م بعد مضي ثلاث عشرة سنة على تسجيله لها بسبب قضائه معظم هذه الفترة في غياهب سجون عبد الناصر، فلم يتح له حضور المناقشة إلا بعد مغادرته المعتقل إثر زوال الكابوس الكبير.
أعلن عبد الناصر في 1965م اكتشاف تنظيم جديد للإخوان المسلمين فأصدر قرارا باعتقال الجميع وكل من سبق اعتقاله، وتعرض الإخوان للتعذيب الرهيب الذي لم يلقوه من قبل، وكان هذا أول اعتقال للمستشار علي جريشة حيث اعتقل في في ليلة من ليالي شهر أغسطس وعلى الأخص 25 أغسطس 1965م، وتعرض للتعذيب الشديد الذي لا يتحمله الرجال لولا فضل الله وقدم للمحاكمة وحكمت عليه بـ 12 سنة أشغالاً، وفي المعتقل كان كثير المشاغبة للحكومة بالقانون، بغية الحصول على امتيازات وانفراجات في المعاملة في السجن لإخوانه، فاعتبرته الحكومة مشاغباً، وقامت بنفيه وتغريبه إلى سجن قنا، بعد سجن الليمان، مما سببت مشقة على أسرته.
وهو احد علماء الأمة الإسلامية وجماعة الإخوان المسلمين والفكر الإسلامي فبعد حياة حافلة بالعطاء والجهاد وخدمة الإسلام، قاضيًا وفقيهًا ومفكرًا إسلاميًّا كبيرًا وأستاذًا للشريعة الإسلامية بالجامعة الإسلامية بالمدينة المنورة، وكانت آخر زيارته خارج مصر إلى اليمن رحل في يوم 27 أبريل 2011م.
