نجح المؤلف في أن يثبت أن المخابرات المبنية على العلم هي التي كان لها الأهمية الكبرى خلال الحرب العالمية الثانية، حيث استطاع رفعها إلى مرتبة عليا عند الحكومات في ذلك الوقت، إن التطور السريع الذي حصل في مجال فك رموز الإرسال، وفي تصميم وزيادة تطوير الأجهزة، والتي كانت أساساً لتطوير الكمبيوتر في يومنا هذا، كل هذا التقدم مكَّن من فك رموز الشيفرات المعادية، وحل كثير من الأمور التي كان ينظر إليها على أنها غير قابلة للعلاج، وهو ما جعل جنرالات الحرب أقوياء بسبب الحصول على معلومات حول الأعداء الذين لم يستطع أفضل الجواسيس من الحصول عليها، وقد مضي حوالي 25 عاماً حتى الآن على صدور هذا العمل، ومنذ أن أفرجت الحكومة الأمريكية والحكومة البريطانية جزئياً عن ملفات وزارة الدفاع والمخابرات المركزية الألمانية في عهد (الرايخ) في الثمانينيات، والتي نعرفها اليوم حيث لم يكن المؤلف يعرفها إذ توفي عام 1984، كان لا بد من إعادة تصحيح المفاهيم والأفكار الخاطئة عن تلك الحرب.
