انهيارات، انتكاسات، حالات جنونية، أحلام وكوابيس، نقائض متعايشة، مزاعم ووساوس وهواجس ومخاوف، آمال وأحاسيس غير ملتقطة، بالإضافة إلى الكثير من المفارقات التي تضج بها النفس البشرية، وتنفتح عليها في واقعها وحياتها السرية، تشكل بؤر مقاربة للروائي الذي يرتاد الأعماق ويحاول رصد نقاط بعينها لتكون نماذج تبحث عن أشباه وتقاطعات لها في الواقع. لا يتعلق أمر رحلة الروائي في النفس بالانهمام بتصدير أو تصوير فضيلة أورذيلة، ولا يختص بتعظيم فعل أو تقزيمه، ولا بتبرئة جانب أوتأثيمه، بل يكون بحثا عن الغريب الذي يستوطن النفس، والجديد القار فيها، وتجريب مختلف السبل لاستكشافها ومواجهة التمويه الذي قد يحجبها عن الدراسة والمقاربة. لا يتقيد الروائي الرحالة بصور الأمكنة والأوصاف الخارجية، تراه يتعمق في تشريح التركيبة الداخلية للشخصيات، ويكون في تشريحه كالعالم الذي يقوم بتجربة علمية ليأخذ منها الدروس والعبر والنتائج، مع ملاحظة أن الخوض في إجراء تجارب متخيلة على الأنفس والدواخل لا يأتي بالنتيجة نفسها كل مرة، بل هناك مفاجآت تربض لمرتاد الأعماق في تحليلاته وتأويلاته، وهنا تدور الرواية في رحلتها الذائبة في النفس مرة تلو أخرى متحرية عن المستجد الذي يكون بدوره صدى للمبتكر في عالمه الخارجي أوصورة من زاوية غير مرئية له
