كاتب وروائي فلسطيني الأصل بريطاني الجنسية، مقيم في إسبانيا، من مؤلفاته راوي قرطبة وسياسة في الجنة، ذو توجهات علمانية. قبل أن يكتب روايتيه كان عبد الجبار عدوان يعمل في مجال الاعلام ويكتب مقالة اسبوعية في صحيفة الشرق الأوسط ومقالا اسبوعيا بالانجليزية في الديلي ستار اللبنانية، كما عمل مستشارا لدى عدة محطات تلفزة أوروبية حول شؤون الشرق الأوسط. أثناء الانتفاضة الأولى اصدر عدوان ثلاثة كتب هي أنياب الخروف، والشهداء، وثمن الاستقلال، وقد طبعت هذه الكتب في لندن ومصر وفلسطين. روايته التالية كانت سياسة في الجنة، والتي منعت في بعض الدول العربية،[1] وقد رشحتتها دار الفارابي لجائزة بوكر للعام القادم، وكانت رواية راوي قرطبة قد احرزت الدور العاشر من ترشيحات بوكر للعام الأول علما بأن السته الأولى هي الروايات التي تعبر ضمن الفائزين. والمؤلف له الآن كتاب بعنوان بومة بربرة من دار الفارابي وهي رواية حقيقية عن الحياة في قرية بربرة الفلسطينية التي دمرت اثر النكبة وهي مسقط رأس المؤلف.[ في عام 2013 صدرت لعدوان رواية فتنة الكرسي وفي صيف 2015 صدر له عن دار الفارابي في بيروت ايضاً رواية "حافة النور " وهي رواية ثلاثية

يشير الكتاب إلى أن ما نمر به الآن في المنطقة ككل وأقاليمها، ليس بالجديد كلياً، بل عايش السلف على مدار الحقبات أوضاعا مشابهة مع اختلاف بسيط في درجات الحدة .. الاقتتال، حشر الدين في الصراعات، التنافس القاتل على كرسي الحكم، خيانة الذات والشعب، ذبح الأبناء والإخوة والأهل المنافسين، التعذيب بأنواعه للمعارضين، وخطفهم وقتلهم لإرهاب من تسول له نفسه .. وربما الأهم في ذلك هو الانصياع للعدو الأجنبي إلى درجة الخيانة، ضد الذات، والآهل، والوطن، والدين، والقومية.
