حرص الكثيرون على اقتناءِ تفسير مُيَسَّ للقرآن كُلِّه بصفة عامِّة، ولجزء )عم( بصفة خاصَّة؛ فهُم يقرؤونه في الصلاة، ويَُفِّظون أولادَهم إيَّاه.. بل هو أوَّلُ ما حفظوا في طفولتهم، حيث أنَّه يتكون من قصار السور، وإن كانت سُوَرُه تتفاوت في قِصَِها. ولكنَّ بعضهم إذا لجأ إلى التفاسير الكبيرة المشهورة، ذات القيمةِ العلمية العظيمة؛ يجد نفسَه غارقًا في بحرِها، لا يستطيع الغوصَ في أعماقها كي يظفر بِثَمِين دُرِّها. كما أنَّ أولادَنا من الفتيان والفتيات قدْ لا تتيسَّ لهم القراءة في أحدِ التّفاسير الكبيرة، وإذا فعلوا ذلك؛ غالبًا ما يكون من الصَّعب عليهم استخلاصُ معنى، أو استيعاب شرح، وقد يختلطُ الأمرُ عليهم فيما يُعْتدُّ به، أو ما لا يعتدُّ به من الآراء والأقوال، وقدْ لا يدرك أحدُهم أنَّ العلماء قد أوردوا قولً، أو عرضوا رأيًا، ثمَّ علقوا عليه بكلمة تؤكد ضَعْفَهُ، أو تُقَلِّل أهميته أو تَُذِّر منه. أمَّا إذا لجأ أحدُهم إلى تفسيرٍ مختصر، فإنِّه قد لا يجد سوى معاني المفردات، فيعرف معنى الكلمة، ولكنه قد يعجز عن معرفةِ معنى الآية، أو ما وردَ فيها من أمرٍ أو نهي، أو سبب النزول، أو غير ذلك من المعان
