كتاب "القاهرة.. حكايات من زمن فات" للمؤرخ خطاب معوض خطاب. والذي أشار في تصريحات خاصة لـ"الدستور" حول الكتاب: سبق لي وأن كتبت من قبل عن بعض شوارع وحارات ومساجد القاهرة التي زرتها كثيرًا، وأذكر منذ عدة سنوات، أنني كنت في شارع المعز لدين الله الفاطمي في صباح أحد أيام الشتاء، وساقتني قدماي للتجول فيه من باب الفتوح إلى باب زويلة، ووقتها نويت أن أجوب شوارع القاهرة العتيقة، فأخذت أتجول في سوق السلاح وباب الوزير حتى وصلت إلى القلعة، ثم تجولت في شارع الصليبة حتى وصلت إلى جامع أحمد بن طولون، وعدت أدراجي إلى القلعة مرة أخرى، ومنها إلى شارع محمد علي ثم المغربلين ومنه إلى باب زويلة. لقد تجولت في شوارع وحارات القاهرة أكثر من سبع ساعات دون راحة، ويومها نسيت نفسي بالفعل، ولم أشعر بنفسي ولم أشعر بأي تعب وقتها، فقد أنستني متعة التجول في شوارع وحارات القاهرة العتيقة أي شعور أو إحساس بالوقت أو الإرهاق والتعب، حقيقة القاهرة بشوارعها وحاراتها حكاية ليس لها نهاية، وهذه الشوارع والحارات ليست مجرد أثر أو حجر، بل هي حكاية وطن وبشر.
