ملخص العمل:
تتحدث الرواية عن قصة طبيبة شابة فقدت والدتها منذ الصغر، ليقوم والدها بالتخلي عنها و إيداعها داخل دار للأيتام فتحدث فجوة كبيرة بين ماضيها المؤلم و مستقبلها البعيد.
فيحاول حبيبها و زوجها الدكتور مجد مساعدتها في إيجاد سلامها الداخلي عن طريق صديقه أحمد و زوجته الصحفية التي تكشف لها الأحداث و سر طلب المقابلة الصحفية مع طبيبة شابة و معرفة قصة حياتها، لتنكشف الكثير من الأسرار و خبايا الماضي.
و تستطيع الطبيبة جلنار مصالحة مع والدها وماضيها معه.

جَلَسَتْ على المقعدِ الأحمرِ، وبدأتُ كتابةَ أولى كلماتها من الرسالةِ الورقيةِ: إليكِ يا أُمِّي.
أتمنى لكِ كلَّ السَّلام حيثُ أنتِ، أعلمُ جيداً بأنَّكِ تُشاهدين كُلَّ شيء يحصلُ معي مِن السماءِ السابعة، روحك مازالت تُساعدني عِند مواجهتي للصعوبات، قُمتُ بزراعة الزهور الأحبُّ إلى قلبك وخاصَّة الليلك و النرجس و الأقحوان، ولم أنسَ سقاية شجرة النارنج في حديقةِ منزلنا؛ وسأعتني بوالدي كما كنتِ دوماً تتمنين يا عزيزتي.
مع كل حُبِّي ابنتك.
نهضتُ مِنْ على المقعدِ وهي تحتضن آخر صورة تم إلتقاطها لعائلتها الجميلة ثُمَّ وَضَعَتْ الرسالة داخل الصندوق، كانتْ تعلم جيداً بأنَّها لن تستطيع إرسالها، لكنَّها على الأقل ستجدها سند خفيٌّ للأيام القادمة.
