كتاب علمي وتاريخي عن وباء كورونا كوفيد - 2019 حديثاً والأوبئة التي أصابت المجتمع قديماً؛ ومنها الملتبسة معه، كي تعرف الناس سبب الأمراض ومعالجتها. إذ تُعد دراسة تاريخ الأوبئة، لاسيما في مصادر التراث العربي الإسلامي من الدراسات المهمة وغير التقليدية، لأنها تبيّن واقع ظروف المجتمع الذي عايش الوباء وما نتج عنه من متغيرات كان لها الأثر اجتماعياً واقتصادياً وصحياً ونفسياً عند زوال البلاء، فضلاً عن معرفة نوع هذه الأوبئة في عالم اليوم لما مرّت به الأمة وتضررت منها سنين عجاف، لاسيما التي امتدت من (6-897هـ = 628-1492م) وهي فترة هذه الدراسة، إذ كانت مهلكة للإنسان والدواب والحرث والزرع، كما أن قسماً من الأوبئة عُرف عن أعراضه وعلاجه، وسجله العلماء العرب سواء أكان من المسلمين أم غير المسلمين قبل وبعد الإسلام، وبقيت أوبئة وأمراض أخرى مجهولة إلى يومنا هذا مثل ظهور وباء كورونا (كوفيد-19)المستجد، الذي سُجل في سنة (1441هـ/2019م) وقد تكون أوبئة مشابهة له وقعت في القرون السالفة.
