Book Description
تحاكي الرواية قصة (جبرائيل) كاتب دفعته ظروف الحرب في بلده الأم للجوء الى لبنان، وتحديدا في بيروت، مما يضعه في ظروف معيشية قاسية، لدرجة تخلي أقرب أصدقائه عنه، حيث يتشرد لعدة أشهر، ويدخل في صراع التجرد من شخصيته ككاتب والتحول إلى مشرد، مصاب بالقلق الاجتماعي المصحوب بأفكار انتحارية.
وتسرد الأحداث كيف قرأ الكاتب البؤس والتشرد، على الأرصفة وتحت زخات المطر، بين أضواء المدينة، وتجاعيد شيخ عجوز ينام قرب مكب النفايات، حيث كانت عينه ترقب بحذر، نعال باهظة الثمن تخطو أمامه، وعلى الجانب الأخر فتاة تعطي جسدها لقاء علبة سجائر.
