لما ظفرت بكتاب الإمام العيني، الموسوم بـ ’منحة السلوك شرح تحفة الملوك‘ وقرأته قراءة كاملة، أحببت هذا الكتاب، فسألت الله أن يعينني على تحقيقه وإخراجـه، وذلك لما امتاز بـه العيني من علم بالرواية وإحاطة بالدراية، مما لا يحصل لغيره من الأئمة، ولما امتاز به هذا الكتاب من مواضيع مهمة، في المجالات الفقهية التي تهم الفرد والأمة، وذلك لكثرة وقوعها وعظم حاجة الناس إليها.
وقد كتب هذا الكتاب بأسلوب رفيع، وعبارة واضحـة خالية عن التعقيد، يلامس الموضوع مباشرة، من غيـر كثـرة افتراضات ولا اعتراضات، ممـا يجعل متوسط الذكاء من القراء يفهمه، ولمراميه يدركه ويلحظه. فهو كتاب فقه لطيف، أتى على الكثير من المسائل المهمـة بدليلها، وذكر بعض أقوال الفقهاء بنصوصها ومراجعها، وعنى بذكر مذهب الحنفيـة، لأن ماتنه حنفي المذهب، لكنه لم يكن بمنأى عن ذكر المذاهب الفقهية الأخرى، فهو يذكر بعض مذاهبهم، ويناقش أقوالهم، ويبرز أدلتهم، يقدم كل ذلك للقارئ بأسلوب فقهي بديع رائع، وبطريقة عليها مشكاة النبوة ظاهر، يجد فيه القارئ مبتغاه وحاجته ومشتهاه.
فهو كتاب فقه وحديث، يرجع ذلك إلى عمق حصيلة مؤلفه الحديثية والفقهية والتفسيرية والأصولية واللغوية، وغيرها من العلوم الأخرى. فالإمام العيني ألمعي أشم، آتاه الله بسطة من العلم، ومنحه فرصة في العمر، فكان عطاؤه هائلاً وأسلوبـه بديعاً باهراً، وصدق الله تعالى إذ يقـول: ﴿كُلاًّ نُّمِدُّ هَؤُلاءِ وَهَؤُلاءِ مِنْ عَطَاءِ رَبِّكَ وَمَا كَانَ عَطَاءُ رَبِّكَ مَحْظُوراً﴾[الإسراء: 20].
ولقد كان الإمام حنفي المذهب، سلفي المنهج والمشرب، يلتزم الاتباع، وينهى عن الابتداع.
ولذلك كانت مؤلفاته تتسم بما هو عليه من منهج، وتتحلى بما هو عليه من سبيل، يتبنى الصواب ويدافع عنه، ويمقت الاعوجاج والانحراف وينكر عليه، مع ما يتسم به من شفافية مرهفة وحس روحي رفيع. ولذا فإن مؤلفاته كانت تتسم بهذه الصراحة، وترفض كل مجاملة فيها خروج عن الحق والصواب.
