إن ما يقدمه هذا الكتاب هو قراءة تاريخية موضوعية للديانة المسيحية التي كانت سائدة ولا تزال، وبأسلوب حرصت فيه المؤلفة كل الحرص الابتعاد عن التقويمات والتحليلات، مع توخي الدقة والأمانة في عرضها وتعريفها لما تقدمه. وما تقدمه يمثل بحثاً تمهيدياً أوجزت فيه العقيدة المسيحية في مختلف جوانبها وتعاليمها. دون نية في هداية أحد ولا إقناع أي كان بأن المسيحية هي على حق، وأن أي ديانة أخرى هي على ضلال.
الغاية بالنسبة لها فقط عرض موضوعي لما يؤمن به المسيحيون، وهي واحدة منهم، ثم إيضاح الأسباب التي تدفع المسيحيين للتمسك بهذا الإيمان، والطرق التي يدعوهم الإيمان إلى سلوكها.
