اهتم هذا الكتاب بدراسة الطاقة المختزنة في المجال الكهربي من خلال دراسة المكثفات وفي المجال المغناطيسي من خلال دراسة الحث الذاتي لملف كهربي، وتمّ إضافة دراسة مبسطة عن الذبذات الكهرومغناطيسية وتناظرها مع الذبذات الميكانيكية وكذا دراسة موجزة عن المواد المغناطيسية وخواصها.
أما بالنسبة للبصريات الهندسية، فبعد عرض موجز للنظريات التي تشرح طبيعة انتشار الضوء تمت مراجعة عامة لدراسة الانكسار من السطوح المستوية والكروية وذلك باستخدام مبدئي هيجنز وفيرمات.
وقد تمّ التركيز على دراسة عيوب الصور المتكونة بواسطة العدسات وطرق التخلص منها. ولقد استعرض الجزء الأخير دراسة توضيحية لظواهر الضوء الطبيعية، التداخل والجمود والاستقطاب مع التركيز على دراسة شدة الضوء في كل حالة.
