ما من سيرة في هذه الدنيا أجلّ وأهم من سيرة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. فكلما قرأها المرء وجد فيها الجديد، وكلما هلّ عصر وجد أبناؤه في تلك السيرة منهاج حياتهم، والحل لمشاكلهم، والخروج من أزماتهم، ولا عجب فهي الترجمة لكتاب الله سبحانه وتعالى، وهي التطبيق العملي للإسلام، بها يعرف المرء درجة قربه أو بعده من الله سبحانه وتعالى.
يهدف هذا الكتاب الى مساعدة الراغبين في التعرف على بني الإسلام محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم والتأسي والإقتداء به، وأخذ العبر من سيرته، ودفعاً لشبهات المعرضين عن إتباع دينه، والإيمان به.
يعتبر مؤلفا الكتاب أن ما يدفع بعض أعداء الإسلام الى معاداة رسول الله هو الجهل بأخلاقة صلى الله عليه وسلم، وحقيقة الإسلام الذي أرسل به، وبما كان يدعو اليه من القيم والمثل.
من هنا حرص المؤلفان في عملهم هذا على استخلاص العبر والعظات من الأحداث والوقائع وربطها بواقعنا المعاصر دون إفراط، أو تحميل للروايات ما لا تتحمله، ولتكون ملائمة للعنوان الذي اختاراه للكتاب "قبس من السيرة النبوية".
