أوجبت الشريعة الإسلامية على الأبناء بر آبائهم، والإحسان إليهم، وحرمت عقوقهم والإساءة إليهم، ثم شرعت من الأحكام الخاصة، ما يحفظ بر الأبناء بالآباء، وكذلك أوجبت الشريعة الإسلامية على الآباء، أن يحسنوا تربية أبنائهم ورعايتهم، وحرّمت تضييعهم، وتضييع حقوقهم، ثم شرعت من الأحكام الخاصة ما يحفظ جيل الأبناء. وتناولت الدراسة هذه الأحكام الخاصة بالعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع، التي جاءت في أدلة الفقه الإسلامي نصاً أو دلالة، بحيث تعرف الحقوق التي أمر الله تعالى بها الفروع تجاه أصولهم، وتعرف – كذلك – حدود الواجبات التي ألزم الشرع بها الأصول تجاه فروعهم. وقد اشتملت هذه الرسالة على خمسة فصول، أما الفصل التمهيدي ففيه مبحثان: الأول مفهوم الأصول والفروع. الثاني القواعد الحاكمة للعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع، والفصول الأربعة الباقية خصصت لبحث الأحكام الخاصة بالعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع في الفقه الإسلامي، وهي على النحو الآتي: الفصل الأول: الأحكام الخاصة بالعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع في العبادات. الفصل الثاني: الأحكام الخاصة بالعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع في المعاملات المالية الفصل الثالث: الأحكام الخاصة بالعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع في الزواج والطلاق والنفقة.الفصل الرابع: الأحكام الخاصة بالعلاقة بين الأصول والفروع في العقوبات والقضاء والجهاد. وللرسالة خاتمة تضمنت أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها خلال دراستي.
