في هذا الكتاب جهد للكشف عن سمات وتوجهات الحكم الذي أقامه الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في المدينة عام 622 ميلادية فكان بداية ومنطلقاً للسلطة التي جاءت بعد وفاته وامتدت قصتها حتى الحرب العالمية الأولى من القرن العشرين، وليس ذلك من أجل قصة الحدث بل من أجل التفريق بين السلطة الطاغوتية التي تقوم على الجهل وأحادية الرأي، وبين الحكم الرسولي الذي لا ينفي التعددية، والذي ينفصل عما جاء بعده، لأنه ليس بداية لما ائتلف الدارسون على تسميته بالدولة الإسلامية.
