سارة فتاة في التاسعة من عمرها، محظوظة جداً. فوالداها يحبانها، ويقدمان إليها كل ما تتمناه. أو تطلبه، أو تشير إليه... فغرفتها حافلة بمجموعة كبيرة من الكتب والألعاب المتنوعة والمختلفة ويؤنسها في بيتها صديقان أليفان: كلب أبيض، موفور الشعر. وبالرغم من كل ما هو متوفر لسارة فهي تعاني من مشكلة ذاتية طالما نغصت عليها عيشتها وجعلتها كئيبة ومنزعجة ومتوترة الأعصاب، هي رؤيتها للحشرات تزحف على أرض غرفتها أو أرض رفوف المطبخ. وسرعان ما تولت كآبتها إلى فرح إثر تجربة، مرت بها، وأعطتها درساً في التغلب على مخاوفها.
إذ إن ما تحتويه هذه القصة المصورة التي بين يدينا هو التجربة التي مرت بها سارة. والتي تعلمت من خلالها كيف تميز بين الحشرات السيئة والأخرى المفيدة كالنحل. ولما كان هدف هذه القصة تعليمي، فقد تضمنت في خاتمتها فروضاً تطبيقية قسم منها يرتبط مباشرة بالقصة ويساعد الطفل على فهمها وتحليلها واستنتاج العبر منها، القسم الآخر ضم أسئلة ثقافية عامة وأسئلة في اللغة العربية، هذا إلى جانب بعض الألعاب المسلية التي تنمي خيال الطفل وإبداعه.
