المسلمين العلويين كغيرهم من الفرق الإمامية الاثني عشرية تعتقد بالأصول الخمسة وهي: التوحيد والعدل والنبوة والإمامة والمعاد. فالتوحيد هو الأصل الأعظم الجامع لجميع الأصول والأركان في الدين الإسلامي الحنيف وعن هذا الأصل الشريف تفرع العدل وهو الأصل الثاني من أصول الدين وبإثبات هذا الأصل يثبت التوحيد وبانتفائها ينتفي ويخرج نافيه عن ملة التوحيد لأنه بنفيه للعدل ينسب فعل الله تعالى للعبث تعالى الله عن ذلك علواً كبيراً.
وعن العدل صدر أصلان وهما النبوة والمعاد فبما أن الله عادل كانت النبوة لأن الخلق عاجزون عن معرفة الله ومعرفة أوامره ونواهيه فكان من عدل الله أن أرسل لأنبياء والرسل ليعلموا الخلق ويهذبوهم ويزكوهم ويأخذوا بهم إلى الصراط المستقيم والطريق القويم.
وكذلك بما أن الله تعالى عادل كان المعاد لكي يثبت المحسنين على إحسانهم ويجازي العاصين على معصيتهم. وقد انبعث عن النبوة الأصل الخامس الذي لا يعرف التوحيد إلا به وهو الإمامة وذلك لأن الإمامة في عقيدة العلويين هي باطن النبوة وروحها وجوهرها وإنكار الإمامة هو إنكار للنبوة وجحوداً لها.
والكتاب الذي بين يدينا يتناول الأصول الأربعة الأولى بإيجاز شديد كما يتناول الفروع الدينية التي هي: الصلاة ومقدماتها والصوم والزكاة والحج.
هذا الكتاب يجد القارئ من خلاله نفحات إيمانية وأضواء رحمانية وألطاف إليه تملأ قلبه فتجعله يعيش في رحمة الله ويهتدي بهدايته ويستضيء بنوره وينفتح على عبادته ويكون من الذين قال الله تعالى فيهم: (أولئك على هدى من ربهم وأولئك هم المفلحون).
ومؤلفه هذا يقدمه لثلاث فئات: فئة تؤدي الفرائض وهي على غير معرفة بأحكامها، فهذا الكتاب عوناً لها لإصلاح وتقويم أدائها. وفئة تركت الفرائض وهي غير مدركة لخطورتها، فهذا الكتاب حافزاً وباعثاً لها على أدائها. وفئة أخيرة تريد أداء هذه الفرائض ولكنها لا تدري كيف تؤديها وتخجل من سؤال الناس، فهذا الكتاب يعلمها هذه الفرائض وأحكامها.
