يضم هذا الكتاب أربعون حديثاً في فضائل أهل البيت وهو من تأليف عبد الله بن صالح بن محمد العبيد، وجميعها مسندة وتؤكد على أهمية محبة آل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم التي تهدف إلى الفوز والصلاح في الدنيا والآخرة. يقول الكاتب: "وما زال أئمة الإسلام والتابعون لهم بإحسان لا يصنفون كتاباً في العقائد أو السنن أو السير إلا ويروون فيه فضائلهم، ويتخذون ذلك عقيدة وشريعة يلقون بها الله ورسوله". لقد شرف الله الأمة الإسلامية بآل البيت الطاهرين، وزادها شرفاً بإصطفائه منهم سيد الأولين والآخرين صلى الله عليه وسلم، من هنا جاء تعظيم السلف الصالح في أقوالهم وأفعالهم ونقل فضائلهم. من هذا المنطلق جاء إهتمام مؤلف الكتاب بجمع وتدوين هذه الأربعين حديثاً. يقول: "غالبها بالقراءة والإسماع، إنتخبتها مما وقع لي جمعية بالسماع، ولم أقصد فيها إلى علوم الإسناد، إكتفاءاً بعلو أهل المنزل والناد، وإنتقيت جملة من أحاديثه من الصحيحيون –لجلالتهما- وإن كان أرباب الصنعة لا يعتادونه، طلباً منهم للعلو من غير طريقهم. ثم ألحقت بها فوائد مستنبطة، وغرائب مستلطفة، خصصت بها آل رسول الله". فيما يلي نقتبس للقارئ ما جاء في الحديث الثالث والعشرون من هذا الكتاب: "عن ابن عباس قال: خط رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أربعة خطوط، ثم قال أتدرون ما هذا؟، قالوا الله ورسوله أعلم، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: أفضل نساء أهل الجنة خديجة بنت خويلد، وفاطمة بنت محمد، ومريم بنت عمران، وآسية إبنة مزاحم إمرأة فرعون". هذا إسناد وصحيح. وتجدر الإشارة هنا أن الكاتب يلحق كل حديث ورد في كتابه بمناقشة ومسائل كثر تبين لنا صحة الحديث ونسبته إلى أصحابه. كتاب صادق وصحيح بسنده، دأب مؤلفه إلى تبيان الصحيح من أحاديث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وآل بيته الطاهرين وفضائلهم، فكان خير من كتب وخير من أوصل الرسالة.
