هذا السجل يضم أسماء المجاهدين من شعب المملكة العربية السعودية، الذين ضحوا بنفوسهم وبذلوا أموالهم، وكذلك أسماء الشهداء والجرحى، والذين نالوا الأوسمة الحربية، ومجموع عدد المتطوعين الذين لا علاقة لهم بالجيش النظامي، ثم أسماء المتبرعين.
علماً أنه لا يقدر المشقة التي تكبدها المتطوعين، وما بذلوه من التضحيات، إلا من يعرف عدم توفر المواصلات في ذاك الحين بين المملكة العربية وبين فلسطين، إذ لا يوجد طيران بل ولا سيارات ما عدا الإبل. كما أنه لا يعرف قيمة ما بذله المتبرعون من المال، إلا من يدرك أن وضع المملكة الاقتصادي في ذاك الوقت كان يختلف اختلافاُ كلياً عن وضعها اليوم.
وهذا مما يجعلنا نعتقد جازمين أن شعب هذه البلاد بعدما توفرت له المواصلات، وبعدما ارتفعت موارده الاقتصادية، سوف يكون أكثر تضحية بالنفس واجم سخاء بالنفيس، حينما تأتي المعركة الثانية ضد الصهاينة الغزاة تلك التي لا بد للعرب من مواجهتها شاءوا أم أبوا.
وفي سجل الشرف هذا أعظم معنى على تنافس المواطنين في ميدان الجهاد المقدس.
