في دراستها حول (الفكر الأخلاقي عند بول ريكور) تطرح الباحثة فائزة شرماط الإشكالية الآتية: "كيف يمكن فهم الأخلاق عند بول ريكور؟ وهل يمكن للأخلاق حل الأزمات المعاصرة الإنسان؟ وكيف يمكنها التأسيس للإنفتاح على الآخر؟
وتحت هذه الإشكالية ناقشت الدراسة مشكلات جزئية تتعلق بموقف ريكور من أزمة الوعي والذات لدى الإنسان المعاصر والتي وجهته إلى تعريف البحث في الأخلاق وأنها من خلال إجراء دراسة أنثروبولوجية للإنسان وإعادة قراءت التراث الأسطور والرمزي لأقدس الكتب والفلسفات.
إن هذا البحث محاولة لإلقاء الضوء على فكر أخلاقي معاصر عايش كل التطورات والإحداث والمتعرجات الفلسفية والمتمثل في دراسة الأخلاق عند بول ريكور.
وفي هذا الإطار حاولت الباحثة فائزة شرماط تسليط الضوء على واقع الإنسان بكل أبعاده الأنطولوجية والإبستيمولوجية والأنثروبولوجية وفقاً لهرمنيوطيقا تميزت لدى ريكور، وذك عن طريق تحديد الإهتمامات التي تعكس الحس الفلسفي عند ريكور.
تتألف الدراسة من عدد من الفصول والمباحث جرت خلالها مناقشة حل المشكلات التي ارتبطت بعناوينها، تناول الفصل الأول محورية الشر وأزمة الإنسان المعاصر وفيه قامت الباحثة بتحليل أزمة الذات في فلسفة الشك ثم بحثت عن المعنى وتأسيس الذات لدى ريكور فأنطولوجيا الشر، بينما تعمق الفصل الثاني بالبحث في الأخلاق بين الغائية والواجبية التي تمثل المنظور الكانطي ثم الحكمة العملية من الفعل الأخلاقي. ويأتي الفصل الثالث والأخير ليعنى بدراسة البعد الأخلاقي في الهوية السردية، انطلاقاً من السرد، بحثاً عن الذات ثم الصيغة السردية للأخلاق، فالذاكرة والإعتراف لدى ريكور والغاية إبراز الدور الفلسفي والإنساني الذي عكسته شخصية ريكور.
