مما لا شك فيه أن علم القرآن من أشرف العلوم على الإطلاق نظراً لتعلقه بإشراف كتاب، تعلقاً مباشراً، لأن من مبادئ فن القراءات معرفة موضوعه، وهو كتاب القرآن الكريم من حيث أحوال النطق بها، وكيفية أدائها. وها نحن ترى العلماء على مر العصور ينظرون إلى القرآن الكريم، بتأمل وسكينة ليخرجوا ما فيه من علوم لا تزال فيه إلى يوم القيامة، فلقد اهتم العلماء بدراسة القرآن مع تنوع تلك الدراسة من تفسير، وبيان إعجاز وأسباب نزول وإعراب ووجوه قراءات، وناسخ ومنسوخ، ومحكم ومتشابه، ومعاني وبلاغة، وما شاكل ذلك، أو ما كان من مشاكاة ذلك.
وهو الكتاب رسالة قيمة على صغر حجمها تنفع العالم والمتعلم وتتكون من عدة أبواب شاملة لعلم القراءات من أصول وفرش، وقد وصلت عدد الأسئلة المجاب عنها فيه مرتبة إلى 229 سؤال وجواب، دوراً بالأسئلة التمهيدية. فالأصول تم الفرش مروراً بكل سور القرآن الكريم، مع إشارات خفيفة إلى عدد آيات كل سورة، ثم عدد آيات الإضافة بها، وأرقام آياتها ورأى القراء العشرة فيها من فتح وإسكان. وبالكتاب كذلك عدد لا بأس به من الفوائد التي تلي إجابات بعض الأسئلة هذا بالإضافة إلى إشارات شملت مصادر تلك الإجابات في المرابع الكبرى في علم القراءات.
