في رواية "قدري الرحيل" تبرز قدرة الروائية البحرينية "غدير محمد" على المزاوجة بين العمق التمثيلي في استبطان عوالم المرض، وبلاغتها التصويرية في التقاط تفاصيل الألم الحسي والمجرد، وقد حافظت في الآن ذاته على تلقائية آسرة في الحكي المسترسل على لسان بطل الرواية "أسعد" الذي تحولت حياته إلى رماد بمجرد أن أخبر الطبيب عائلته أنه مصاب بمرض "السكلر" الشيء الذي جعلهم يبتعدون عنه، فقرر السفر إلى لندن لمتابعة الدراسة بعد أن حصل على بعثة دراسية. وهناك في البلد الجديد تعرف إلى "مهرة" التي لونت حياته بالفرح والحب، ثم ما لبثت أن تغيرت، عندما تقدم "أسعد" لخطبتها. وجاءه الجواب من والدها "أنا لا أزوج إبنتي لشابٍ مريض مثلك أخشى أن يموت في منتصف عمره فلا أضمن ذلك أنه يعيش معها بقية حياته ...". لقد أبدعت الروائية غدير محمد في تطريز المفارقات الإنسانية الناتجة من تبدل زاوية الرؤية إلى الحياة والوقائع والناس، في حال الصحة والمرض، وقد اتخذت من التعبير الروائي الشفاف مع ما يتصل به من تغلغل للوعي أداة لإبراز تفاصيل المكون الألمي وتحويله إلى موضوع مفعم بالقيم الجمالية المضافة.
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:
"يرحلون تاركين بصماتهم وهمساتهم محفورة داخلنا بأعماق قلوبنا نسترجع شريط ذكرياتنا معاً، نعود للماضي ولأيام عشناها سوياً. ولكن شاء القدر واقتربت ساعة الوداع المؤلمة في هذا الوقت نتمنى لو تقف الحياة ولا نبتعد عند الفراق تبدو الدقائق أعواماً .. قدري الرحيل ...".
