من مفارقات الشعوب أنها، وإن كانت واحدة في الجوهر، فهي متعددة في الشكل فأنت تجد القصة الواحدة منتشرة - أكاد أقول - في العالم كله.
ولكنها تروى هنا بصورة وهناك بصورة أخرى، فلكل بلد قيمه، تقاليده، عاداته... ووجهة نظر في العالم، ومع ذلك يلتقي مع أغلب بلدان العالم في المشكلات الحياتية وفي المعاني الكبرى للوجود كالخير والحق.
والغجر، وإن كانوا شعباً واحداً على ما يزعمون، فهم في يوغسلافيا غيرهم في سوريا أو في فرنسا وغيرها من بلاد الله تعالى ومع ذلك يمكنك أن تتعرف إلى الغجري (أو النوري كما نقول في بلادنا) أين وإني لقيته - فالرجل على الغالب موسيقي.
والمرأة راقصة تقرأ مستقبلك في كفك أو في حبات الودع، فلا تعجب وأنت تقرأ هذه المجموعة إذا لاحظت أن هذه القصة أو تلك مروية عندنا أيضاً ولكن بشكل آخر - فالفولكلور والشعب كالإنسان واحد ومتعدد.
