"أخبار النساء" لابن الجوزي هو أحد كتب التراث التي صُنّفت في القرن السادس الهجري. وهو كتاب شائق، وماتع، ومفيد في الوقت نفسه، فلا يجد القارئ في أثناء قراءته سأماً ولا مللاً. وقد عني فيه مصنفه بأخبار النساء من مختلف الوجوه الحياتية الاجتماعية، مثل: الحب، والغزل، والهوى، والإخلاص، والوفاء، والشجاعة وغير ذلك.
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب حيث يعد مصدراً لا يستغنى عنه لمن يدرس أوضاع المرأة في الجاهلية والإسلام. عُمِل على تحقيقه وجاء عمل المحقق موزعاً في في ثلاثة أقسام هي: القسم الأول: قسم التمهيد، وقد تناول فيه المباحث التالية: ابن الجوزي، حياته وآثاره، كتاب أخبار النساء ومنهج ابن الجوزي فيه، عمل المحقق في هذا الكتاب، القسم الثاني: الكتاب محققاً مذيّلاً بالشروح والتخريجات، القسم الثالث: قسم المسارد الفنية، حيث صنف للكتاب خمسة مسارد، لتسهيل سبيل عودة القارئ إلى مبتغاه بيسر وسهولة.
