"ابن زيكار" رواية تاريخية فينيقية، تبحث في مقاومة "ملكة البحار" لهجوم الإسكندر المقدوني على الساحل السوري، والحقيقة التاريخية التي تود هذه الرواية توجه الأنظار إليها، هي أن الإغريق، يوم كانوا لا يزالون متأرجحين بين جاهليتهم البربرية وفجر حضارتهم، شرعوا يهاجمون الحضارة الفينيقية ويحاولون طمس معالمها لبناء مدينتهم على أنقاضها، وقد أذكت أحقادهم تلك الحروب الطويلة الطاحنة التي دارت رحاها بينهم وبين المستعمرات الصيدونية أولاً: ثم بينهم وبين قرطاجة طيلة القرن الرابع ق.م. فلم يكتفوا بمجابهة أعدائهم في مساحات القتال، بل عمد كتابهم وخطباؤهم وشعراؤهم إلى النميمة والتحقير، والإقذاع في الشتائم يوجهونها إلى الفينيقيين.
ثم جاءت أوروبة تأخذ مدينتها عن أثينة، فانتقلت إليها هذه الشتائم وهذا التحامل المغرض بصورة حقائق تاريخية ثابتة، حتى أصبحنا اليوم نلمس في معاجم الأوروبين وأبحاثهم التاريخية ما يشبه التعمد في محاولة طمس أمجاد فينيقية وإبراز مساوئها. فإذا كانت أوروبة تدافع عن المدينة الإغريقية لأنها مهد حضارتها، فقد أصبح من حق العالم العربي، بل ذا واجبه، أن يدافع عن الحضارة الفينينة التي هي قطعة منه، وتراث مجيد في تاريخه، وهي في الوقت نفسه، أم المدنيات العالمية، وحاملة مشاعل العمران في أقاصي الأرض وآفاق البحار.
