كانت بدايتي مع المذياع، وتعلمت الكثير عن هذا الوسط الساحر من قبل أحد المؤلفين المساعدين لهذا الجزء الحسن، الدكتور لويس، أودونيل وعندما كنت رئيساً لإحدى محطات إذاعية في جامعة ولاية نيويورك - أوسيغو؛ في الحقيقة الدكتور وكما نناديه أخبرني في أيامي النضرة أنني أملك الإستعداد الكامل للمذياع وبالحقيقة أعتقد أن هذا الإطراء.
زملائي في نفس الوقت كارل هاوسمان وفيليب بينوت، شاركوا معي في الرغبة والإستعداد، وبعدها بالتأكيد حماسي وإندفاعي للمذياع - وكذلك أعتقد أن فكرة المؤلف ورأي مؤلف المذياع تشرق عبر الطبعة الأخيرة لكتابهم.
بالطبع في ذلك الوقت، كان السيد هاوسمان يستعد لمقابلة المذياع كما لو كان على موعد مع إمرأة يودها، هو الآن مؤلف جدير بالإحترام، ربما سينكر ذلك.
هذه الطبعة الخامسة الجديدة قد توسعت لتضم المزيد من الإرشاد حول البرمجة والتنفيذ على الهواء، تلك هي مجالات حيوية لأي أحد يريد أن يمضي للعمل في الإذاعة، ولأغراض الرسوخ في ساحة السوق التنافسية، أنت تحتاج إلى مؤسسة كاملة من المهارات.
وكذلك بالطبع أن الكتاب "الإنتاج الإذاعي المعاصر" لا زال يفعل ما يجب أن يفعل منذ البداية: أن يحبذ تعديد - إختياري طليق ومستخدم وتقديم ودي إلى عملية الإتصال بالمذياع، بينما توجد كمية كبيرة من التدريس العالي، هناك الكثير من المعلومات المتعلقة بالخبرة.
أتمنى أن تستمتعوا بهذا الكتاب كما فعلت أنا لا أقول ذلك فقط لأن فيليب بينوت لا يزال يملك خصوصية عدة سلبيات من سنين كليتي والتي يمكن أن تثبت الإرتباك، بل لأن الأمر كذلك فعلاً.
