الحياة في ظلال القرآن نعمة. نعمة لا يعرفها إلا من ذاقها. نعمة ترفع العمر وتباركه وتزكيه. وقد منّ الله تعالى على عبده سيّد قطب في فترة من الزمان، ذاق فيها من نعمته ما لم يذقه في حياته قط. ذاق فيها هذه النعمة التي ترفع العمر وتاركه وتزكيه. عاش في ظلال القرآن متحلياً من ذلك التصور الكامل الشامل الرفيع النظيف الوجود، لغاية الوجود كله، لغاية الوجود كله، وغاية الوجود الإنساني، ومتسائلاً كيف تعيش البشرية اليوم في المستنقع الآسن، من الدرك الهابط، وفي الظلام البهيم وعندها ذلك المرتع الذكي، وذلك المرتقى العالي، وذلك النور الوضيء؟
عاش في ظلال القرآن مستشرقاً التناسق الجميل بين حركة الإنسان كما يريدها الله، وحركة هذا الكون الذي أبدعه الله، ملتفتاً إلى الواقع لدى التخبط الذي تعانيه البشرية في انحرافها عن السنن الكونية، والتصادم بين التعاليم الفاسدة الشريرة التي تحلى عليها، وبين فطرتها التي فطرها الله عليها، متسائلاً أي شيطان لئيم هذا الذي يقود خطاها إلى هذا الجحيم؟ عاش في ظلال القرآن فترة من حياته وانتهى إلى يقين حازم حاسم.
إنه إصلاح لهذه الأرض، ولا راحة للبشرية، ولا طمأنينة لهذا الإنسان، لا تناسق مع سنن الكون وفطرة الحياة إلا بالرجوع إلى الله. من وحي العيش في ظلال القرآن، وبمنة من الله الكريم، استطاع تفسير آياته أو استشفاف معانيه بطريقة لم يدركها المفسرون من قبل. فكان كتابه من تفسير آيات القرآن الكريم أيضا يحمل عنوان:" في ظلال القرآن". وتولف "التطوف الحسان" الذي رشف من معين تلك الغلال إخطار نقلها القارئ من خلال تلخيص أحسن عباراته، وباستخراج زبده أفكار سيّد قطب التي حملها كتابه "في ظلال القرآن".
