يتضمن هذا الديوان الشعري 87 قصيدة باللغة العامية للشاعر والصحفي والأديب اللبناني جوزف أبي ضاهر الذي يسعى من خلال شعره إستخراج العطر من روح الزهر متعالياً فوق نفايات الأرض ليبقى الرحيق آسراً.
وقد وصفه الأستاذ حنا أب حبيب قائلاً: ""ديوان يهجم عليك دفعة واحدة، تظن انك قادر على اخذه بيُسر، فيفلت منك، يغويك بسحر حروفه وغنج كلماته، ولكن حذار ان تمس شرف العطر الطالع منه، تنشقه ولا تحاولن حصره في وعاء، فعبقه اوسع من ان يملأ في الخوابي، او ان يعطّر به وجه الضياء: اقول سهل عليك ان تدخل الى عالم "قبل ما يفل الزهر" وصعب عليك ان تفلت منه، يحاصرك كما الحب، فلا تقوى على مفارقته، فأنت في حضرته وبين قصائده كالداخل الى جنة متنوعة الازاهير، لاول مرة، تفلش امامك جواهر ما كنت تحلم بان تراها، فتحار في ايها تختار(...)"
كما استهلت الصحافية ندى عيد الحديث عن هذا الديوان باللغة العامية بكلمة جاء فيها: "قبل ما يفلّ الزهر" وكيف بدو يفل وجوزف ابي ضاهر عمّرلو جنينة قصايد مسوّرة بالكلمة المقطوفة قطف والصورة الرمزية اللي بتلمع مثل البرق. بلغة القلب كتبها ولغة الحب، لغة العفوية قدمها جوزف ابي ضاهر مثل قنينة عطر بكتاب ازرق بلون المدى…"
