هذا الكتاب يدرس العيينة الأثري في منطقة تبوك شمال غرب المملكة العربية السعودية، الذي يعود إلى مطلع الألف الثامن قبل الميلاد، ويمثل مراحل مبكرة من الاستقرار البشري في الجزيرة العربية، فيتحدث عن المنشآت المعمارية فيه، ويبين خصائصها، كما يدرس المواد العضوية التي وجدت فيه.
والكتاب أوضح أن المساكن في الموقع تميزت بكونها أشكالا منتظمة ذات غرف متلاصقة، استخدم الحجر دون مونة في بناء جدرانها المستقيمة، كما بين أن الأدوات الحجري المستخدمة فيه توافق الأنواع المعروفة في بلاد الشام.
