ويهدف هذا الكتاب الذي اجتهدنا في تأليفه إلى التعرف إلى مفهوم التربية وإلى كيفية تربية الفرد تساعده على التكيف مع البيئة التي تحيط به والتفاعل معها بإيجابية، كما تساعد المجتمع على تحقيق آماله ورغباته، كما يهدف إلى تربية الفرد من جميع الجوانب الجسمية والعقلية والاجتماعية والانفعالية، ولهذا فلا بد من مشاركة جميع عناصر المجتمع مثل المدرسة والأسرة والأقران والمؤسسات الاجتماعية الأخرى في تربية الفرد. كما إن التربية هي التي تساعد المجتمع على الاحتفاظ بتراثه الثقافي ونقله من جيل إلى جيل، كما تعمل على تحسين المستوى الصحي وتنمية الروح الوطنية عند أفراد المجتمع، وتكوين المواطن الصالح الذي يستطيع التكيف مع عادات وتقاليد المجتمع. كما تهدف التربية إلى إعداد الفرد دينياً ودنيوياً وعلمياً، وذلك من خلال الاهتمام بإيصال المعلومات والمعارف للأفراد لتوظيفها في الحياة.
لذلك جاء هذا الكتاب شاملاً لموضوعات متنوعة بهدف تربية الفرد تربية متكاملة، وبحيث يمكن أن يستفيد منه طلبة وأساتذة الكليات التربوية والجامعات والمعلمون والمشرفون التربويون.
