ينتمي مؤلف هذا الكتاب إلى جيل من المثقفين عرفه لبنان والبلاد العربية في العقود الأولى للقرن العشرين، فهو أستاذ متمكن في اللغة العربية، وفكرة منتسب إلى هذه الشريحة المثقفة التي كونت مجموعة الأدباء والشعراء العرب في بدايات القرن المعاصر. إن هاجس هؤلاء الأدباء كان هاجساً متعلقاً باللغة والأخلاق، فمن الرواية كان هنالك تشديد كبير على قواعد اللغة وقوانينها، ومن الزاوية الأخلاقية كان هنالك تشديد كبير على قيم أخلاقية سابقة للتطور السريع الذي حدث في القرن العشرين.
أما الذي يجعل الأعمال الفكرية للشيخ هاني باز رضوان تأخذ منحى فريد ومستقل هو أنه تمسك بالنظرة الدينية التوحيدية الدرزية للكون والوجود واعتنقها بإيمان وتصديق تام وأضافها إلى رؤيته للقيم الروحانية والأخلاق. وكتابه هذا يحتوي على حديثة غناء من الأفكار والأراء التي سجلها في رحلته الطويلة مع التربية والتعليم، كما ضمنه خلاصة قراءاته العلمية والسيكولوجية كظاهرة التقمص. وعنوان كتابه "المصير الإنساني" هو بمثابة تأكيد من قبله على خلود النفس البشرية عبر التقمص.
