بعض ما في هذا الكتاب وريقات ووثائق سطرتها وأنا وسط الأحداث العاصفة التي هبت على الكويت أثناء التأزم في المراحل الأخيرة من أيام (مجلس الأمة التشريعي) في عام 1939.
فلما حل مجلس الأمة التشريعي الثاني أو قبل ذلك أدركت أن الواقعة ستقع وأن السلطة ستطاردني للقبض علي وربما فتشت بيتي فتعثر على هذه الوريقات وتصادرها.
تقبض علي ليس بصفتي فقط سكرتيرا لمجلس الأمة التشريعي الأول فالثاني بل ولأنها تعلم إلي أنا الوحيد الذي رتب وأنشأ دون كل أثر من آثار المجلسيين، لهذا عنيت بدفن هذه الأوراق في التراث عند عتبة غرفة نومي في بيت الوالد الكائن في شارع (فهد) الصالحية سابقاً، وبعد أن وضعتها في علبة من التنك.
وصدق ظني فلقد داهمت السلطة البيت للقبض علي فلما لم تجدني فتشت كل من فيه لكنها لم تعثر على الضالة.
وبعد سنوات عدت إلى الكويت من العراق مع الإخوان الحاج محمد الثنيان الغانم والسيد محمد أحمد الغانم والسيد عبد الوهاب عيسى القطامي عام 1963هـ 1944م بطلب من المرحوم أمير البلاد آنذاك الشيخ أحمد الجابر المبارك الصباح الذي ارسل لنا وفداً من شخصيات الكويت بعد أن اطلق سراح المعتقلين السياسيين الخمسة ليعبر لنا عن كامل رضاه وتناسي أحداث الماضي وآثاره.
وحينما وصلت الكويت بعثت تلك الأوراق المنقولة من مرقدها ثم جعلت تنتقل معي وتطاردني سنوات من بلد إلى آخر في أمل ترتيبها أو تهيئتها في كتاب متى سنحت لي الفرصة.
