أوحى الله تعالى إلى النحل أن تبني بيوتاً لها في صورة أشكال مسدسة وذلك في ثلاثة أمكنة وهي الجبال، والأشجار، ومما يعرش الناس من الأكوار. ثم يأمرها أن تأكل من كل الثمرات والأزهار التي تشتهيها من الحلو والحامض، والمرء وغيره، فإنه سبحانه وتعالى-جل شأنه وعزت قدرته- يحيل ذلك إلى عسل حلو الطعم فيه ما فيه من حلاوة المذاق، ومعجزات الشفاء من كثير من الإمراض. في سبيل النشاط الدائب يسلك النحل الطرق ذلولاً ميسورة في طلب المرعى حيث إنه مسخر لها، وهي لا تضل طريق ذهابها وإيابها.
والعسل الأبيض (عسل النحل) وصفه القرآن الكريم بأنه (شراب مختلف ألوانه) لأنه فيه الأبيض والأحمر. والأصفر، ثم قال تعالى: "فيه شفاء للناس" أي من كثير من الأمراض، وليس من كل الأمراض كما يتوهم ذلك كثير من الناس. قال الإمام الرازي: فإن قالوا: كيف يكون شفاء للناس، وهو يضر بالصفراء، فالجواب أنه تعالى لم يقل: إنه شفاء لكل الناس، ولكل داء في كل حال، بل لما كان شفاء للبعض من الأدواء صلح بان يوصف بأن فيه شفاءً.

ولأن مادة هذا البحث جاءت خصيصاً للتحدث عن التداوي في العسل فقد خصص المباحث ثلثي بحثه لسرد فوائد العسل وطرق التداوي به فتحدت عن فوائده الطبيعية، علاجه لأمراض القلب وارتفاع ضغط الدم، علاجه للصراع، والصداع النصفي، سبل استعماله من علاج حب الشباب ومنع غثيان الحامل، وللحد من الإمساك، وعلاج الحروق، وتسوس الأسنان، والتبول في الفراش وسلس البول وقرحة المعدة والإثني عشر، وللحد من انقباض الرحم...
وهكذا يستعرض الباحث جملة الأجهزة البدنية، والأمراض التي تعتورها وتأتي عليها، ثم يذكر فعالية العسل وأثره في قطع دابر هذه الأمراض أو دفعها ودحضها وقائياً، كل ذلك تحدث عنه وذكره على ضوء القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية وآخر الأبحاث الطبية.
