يحتوي الكتاب على مسائل فقهية وأحكام يجري تفسيرها وشرحها وإيضاحها، وفقاً لعلوم البلاغة. قسّمها المؤلف إلى إثني عشر (مرحلة) تبحث في: أحكام الوجود الكلية، أحكام العدم، في الوجود المستقل والرابط والمستقل، وفي انقسام الوجود إلى ذهني وخارجي، وفي الوجوب والإمكان والإمتناع، وفي علّة حاجة الممكن إلى العلّة، وفي بعض أحكام الممتنع بالذات، وفي الماهية وأحكامها، وفي الكلّي والجزئي، وفي الذاتي والعرضي، وفي المقولات العشر، وفي الواحد والكثير، والعلة والمعلول، وفي العلة الغائية وإثباتها، وفي العقل والمعقول، وفيما يتعلق بالواجب الوجود، وفي العالم المادي، وفي حدوث العالم ... ومسائل أخرى ...
تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من كونه يعتمد في إثبات المسائل على الأسلوب البرهاني، وفي إيراده كثير من المناقشات التي أوردها المتكلمون على الفلسفة، واعتنائه بأبحاث وآراء أظهرها الغربيون قبال المتقدمين، وحتى أن النتائج المترتبة على كل مسألة قد ذكرت بعد إثبات المسألة ... مع الشرح الموضح لجميع ألفاظ الكتاب ومصطلحاته.
