يشكّل البحث في النص الشعري المعاصر، سعياً متواصلاً لإكتشاف فضاءات مفتوحة وإحالات دلالية، تعلن الفرادة والتمييز والإختلاف، كما تكشف عن تجاوز الشعرية التقليدية، التي أنجزتها الذائقة الشعرية العربية، لأن النص المعاصر يقترب من عوالم التجريب والمغامرة، ويحاول أن يقرأ المتغيرات الإجتماعية والسياسية، متجاوزاً مميزات الجمالية الكلاسيكية، ولذلك أخذ في الإنفتاح الجمالي والفكري على الممارسات الشعرية في العالم، فحضر التفاعل والحواجز مجموعة من الآليات؛ من الترجمة إلى المرحلة، ومن الكتاب إلى الوسائل المعلوماتية الحديثة.
ورغم ما تزخر به (التجربة الشعرية الفلسطينية) في السياق الشعري العربي من أسماء نالت الإهتمام والإحتفاء الإعلامي، والأكاديمي، إلاّ أن ذلك اقتصر على بعض الأسماء فقط؛ مثل: (محمود درويش، وسميح القاسم، وفدوى طوقان، ومعين بسيسو)، وهو الأمر الذي غيّب أسماء أخرى كثيرة، يأتي عز الدين المناصرة على رأسها، فهو (الغائب الكبير) عن الدراسات النقدية، رغم ثراء تجربته الشعرية من حيث الكم والكيف.
إنّ نصوص المناصرة تسافر في عمق الوجع الفلسطيني، ونكتب رحلة الذاكرة الشعبية، كما تؤسس لتجربة شعرية تنطلق من عمق الأرض، وتنفتح على الطاقات المعرفية والجمالية في الذاكرة الفلسطينية، وهي - كذلك - تُحيل إلى خصوصية شعرية متميزة، مختلفة مثلاً عن زميليه: محمود درويش، وسميح القاسم، وغيرهما من شعراء فلسطين، بإمتدادها الثقافي الشعبي وغناها القيمي والمعرفي، والجمالي.
