يبحث هذا الكتاب في ميكانيكا تشكيل الصفائح المعدنية في أربعة وحدات، ضمنها المؤلف رسوم بيانية وجداول بمزيداً من التوضيح، حيث تناولت الوحدة الأولى عمليات قص الصفائح المعدنية، ثم عالجت الوحدة الثانية عمليات الثني، ثم تناولت الوحدة الثالثة عمليات سحب الصفائح، أما الوحدة الرابعة والأخيرة فتحدثت عن آلات تشكيل البضائع المعدنية.
يعد هذا الكتاب مرجعاً مهماً للمختصين وغير المختصين في مجال تشكيل الصفائح، اعتمد فيه المؤلف فراس بامية على عدة مصادر عربية وأجنبية ليكون تحت متناول القارئ العربي.
