"كان كمن نبت فجأة..انبهرت به، ولم تعد تبكي.. كان حضوره قد شوش حواسها، وجعلها متعثرة في ردها. كانت على وشك أن تقول إنها ضائعة، إذ هز أعماقها منظر خالها، على دراجته الهوائية. اقترب منها، فصارت بين رجلين اثنين، انتزع ذلك، ألم الخوف من قلبها. حين حاول خالها، أن يعرف منها سبب وجودها على عتمة العزلة، وحين حاولت أن تنطق، ربتت يد ما على ظهرها، فامتلأ المكان ضجيجاً وعمت الحركة.. تذكر بغرابة، أن ذلك حدث معها كثيراً، ولازال رعبه يتقد في ذاكرتها بإمعان..
