"تسرب إلى أنفي عبق الشمعة الخفيف، أحببته. وجدتني أقرّب وجهي إليها وأتعمد أن أستنشقه بقوة أكبر. لكن ذلك العبق لم يمنحني الإحساس الآسر حينها، كان يتمنع علي، فكففت عن تعمد استنشاقه، وتركت له حرية التسرب إلى أنفي كيف يشاء. تركت شفتي تنشدان بصوت هامس. في البداية لم أدرك ذاك الذي كنت أنشده، قد جرى على لساني في غفلة من عقلي، وبقيت أنشده حتى تبينته. كان نشيداً من عهد الطفولة، سمعته وحفظته من دون وعي، وبقي هناك حيث ترسخ. ما زال إلى اليوم يجري بين شفتي في غفلة العقل وغلبة الأحاسيس... شعرت بدمعة تتحدر، لم أشأ أن أمنعها ولم أشأ أن أبحث عن سبب لها".
تبقى في أعماق النفس الإنسانية زوايا يحتلها الحنين في لحظات الابتعاد، تنساق النفس حينها وبكليتها إلى تلك الزوايا، مستأنس بها وكأنها حضن الأم الدافئ، تستثير المشاعر تتوقد تتوهج بانفعالات تثير الخيال وتجري منولوجات داخلية تستحيل حكايا تسجلها ذاكرة نورة محمد فرج فترسلها على الصفحات البيضاء سطوراً تحمل في طياتها معان طفولية حيناً، طوطمية أحياناً، وإنسانية في كل الأحايين.
