هذا كتاب العلوم الطبيعية نقدمه لزملائنا أعضاء هيئة التدريس وللطلبة في الجامعات والكليات بعد أن أصبح هذا الكتاب ضرورة ملحّة لزملائنا العاملين في سلك التربية والتعليم، خاصة الذين يدرسون مساقات العلوم العامة في جميع المراحل.
وقد اشتمل هذا الكتاب على جميع المفاهيم العلمية المتعلقة بالطبيعة سواء أكانت مفاهيم كيميائية أو فيزيائية أو علوم الأرض والبيئة أو فلك، وقد وزعت محتويات الكتاب في أربع وحدات، على الوجه الآتي:
-الوحدة الاولى: المفاهيم الكيميائية وتضمنت البنية الذرية والروابط الكيميائية، المادة اشكالها وتحولاتها وخواصها.
-الوحدة الثانية: المفاهيم الفيزيائية وتضمنت الحركة، الطاقة، الكهرباء الساكنة والمتحركة، المعناطيسية، الصوت، الضوء، الحرارة.
-الوحدة الثالثة: الجيولوجيا وتضمنت الارض وتركيبها الغلافي، المواد المكونة للقشرة الارضية، ديناميكية الارض، التركيب الصخري للقشر الارضية والصخور المتحولة والرسوبية، المناخ والتجوية والتربة، الجيولوجيا البيئية، الزمن الجيولوجي.
-الوحدة الرابعة: الفلك وتضمنت، السماء الليلية، المجموعة الشمسية، استخدام التلسكوبات في الدراسات الفلكية.
وقد تضمن كل فصل عدداً من الأسئلة التي تقيس مدى فهم الطلبة لكل فصل من هذه الفصول، كما تضمن الكتاب مجموعة من المراجع العربية والأجنبية ليعود لها القارئ عند الحاجة للإستزادة في أي موضوع من موضوعات هذا الكتاب.
