تمثل "سلسلة حكايات أيام زمان" جزءاً من التراث العربي المروي الشعبي وغير المكتوب. هذا التراث الذي روته أفواه الأمهات العربيات في القرى والأرياف، وما زالت حتى الآن تتناقله الأفواه من جبل إلى جبل. وقد حرصت المؤلفة على تدوين في هذه السلسلة من القصص خوفاً عليه من الاندثار، في ذاكرة الأجيال.
وحكاية "صديقي الغول" هي واحدة من هذه السلسلة حرصت المؤلفة على تدوينها بأسلوب قريب إلى البساطة، وذلك ليتمكن الطفل الناشئ من استيعابها بسهولة وبيسر دونما حاجة إلى شرحها له من الأهل. والهدف من هذه القصة هو تنمية خيال الطفل وتوسيع مداركه، بالقيم الإنسانية السامية، والأسس الأخلاقية الراقية.
وحكاية "شكراسه والتفاحة الذهبية" تحمل المتعة والتسلية التي يحصل عليها الطفل عند قراءته لها وبعد مشاهدته لصورها الملونة التي قام عدد من الرسامين العرب برسمها مضمنيها مشاهد من بيئة الطفل العربي، وهذا بالتأكيد سيجعل القصة أليفة ومحببة إليه، خلافاً لقصص الأطفال المترجمة عن الغرب التي تغزو عقول وخيال أطفالنا في هذا العصر.
